Scope
This is a privacy policy for the PRIME web portal. The PRIME web portal falls under the responsibility of the PRIME consortium. The portal is concerned with the dissemination and exchange of information about the PRIME research project. It is not concerned with commercial transactions or with the exchange of data for marketing purposes.

Information Collection and Use
All information collected by the PRIME portal site from the users belongs exclusively to the PRIME consortium. It will only be used for customizing the services. The PRIME consortium is the sole owner of the personal data collected from this site and will not sell, share, rent or pass the data in other ways to third parties. The personal data will only be stored as long as it is necessary for provision of the service.

Registration
In order to receive an account for the PRIME web site, users have to complete a registration form. During registration a user is required to provide a username and a password of his/her own choice in addition to an email address. In case the PRIME portal administrator needs to contact the user the email address is used (e.g. in case the password is lost). We will not give the email address away to any third parties or expose it anywhere. It is optional for the user to provide his/her name.

Cookies
A cookie is a small text file written to a user’s hard drive that contains a User ID. The cookies do not contain any personal information about users. The use of cookies is now widespread. The reason we use cookies is to save our users time on the site (so that users do not have to log in with a password more than once). If a user sets up his browser to reject the cookie, he or she may still use the site although functionality might be impaired.

Advertising
The PRIME web site does not work with a third party that serves ads to this site.

Log Files
We use traffic data to analyse trends in site use and to administer the site. This includes time and date of PRIME web portal access, accessed page, error code. We do not collect IP addresses on the web server and do not track user’s movement.

This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that PRIME consortium is not responsible for the contents and the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of these third party sites. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.

Security
This website protects our user information in all conscience. When users submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and off-line. If users wish, they can access the portal by means of an SSL connection.

Correcting/Updating Personal Information
The user has the right at everytime to request information about the stored personal data. He has the unrestricted right of deletion, updating and correction of the stored personal data. This can e.g. be done by sending an email to [email protected].

Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our Homepage so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
